No to NoUI

Timo Arneall’s article rejecting “invisible” interfaces and technology got some buzz this last spring for stating the obvious: interfaces must allow users to easily obtain information. But what champion of “invisible” interfaces believes that we must strip UI away? The idea of the invisible, intuitive interface is the idea that technology should ride atop culture so that it is immediately obvious to the majority of people in a culture what to do with a new piece of software or hardware.

A typographic, designological, visulicious extravaganza!
