Inside Job: Design Solutions & Intrinsic Motivation

Incentives don’t work for creative problems. Again, and again, and again, science has shown that the answers to creative, multi-solution problems, like design, cannot be bought. Love, however, works. It’s passion, that intrinsic motivator that works best. Check two TED segments: the first by Stefan Sagmeister discusses the importance of stepping out of routine while the second  segment, by Dan Pink, discusses why financial motivation backfires for design problems. So, sit back, clear your mind, go for a walk, and get yourself a cup of coffee. The answer will come to you.

A typographic, designological, visulicious extravaganza!
